Since the party that Chuck represents is fairly new, I thought to dedicate this blog post to it.
The organization now known as the Constitution Party was founded in 1992 as the U. S. Taxpayers Party and changed to its current name in 1999. One of the more prominent founders was conservative activist Howard Phillips. The party tried unsuccessfully to draft Pat Buchanan as its Presidential nominee in its early years.
There are many state affiliates, some with slightly different names.
In short, the party seems to be a lot like the Libertarians but more socially conservative in its convictions, even if very similar on practical federal policy stances.
