Chuck is an "currently on leave" Baptist minister from Pensacola, Florida. He has been a comentaror on Constitutional/freedom issues.
He was Michael Peroutka's running mate on the Constitution Party ticket in 2004. During the Republican primaries, he avidly supported Ron Paul. He engaged in a spirited contest to achieve the Constitution Party Presidential nomination earlier this year, beating out nearest rival Alan Keyes. Former Presidential candidate Howard Phillips endorsed him.
Although Chuck has a background as a prominent member of the Moral Majority, Chuck attempts to distance himself from the big-government tendencies of the mainstream "Religious Right". Like Ron Paul, he believes in keeping the federal government within strict Constitutional boundaries.

What is the Constitution Party?
Since the party that Chuck represents is fairly new, I thought to dedicate this blog post to it.
The organization now known as the Constitution Party was founded in 1992 as the U. S. Taxpayers Party and changed to its current name in 1999. One of the more prominent founders was conservative activist Howard Phillips. The party tried unsuccessfully to draft Pat Buchanan as its Presidential nominee in its early years.
There are many state affiliates, some with slightly different names.
In short, the party seems to be a lot like the Libertarians but more socially conservative in its convictions, even if very similar on practical federal policy stances.

Welcome
This blog is a representation of my views concerning the 2008 Presidential Election and my candidate of choice, Mr. Chuck Baldwin. This blog is in no way part of the official Baldwin campaign or the Constitution Party.
A little about me...I am a Traditional Roman Catholic (not in communion with Benedict, who I believe to be an antipope). I believe that the ideal society would be a benevolent Catholic monarchy. However, we have fallen so far from this ideal for reasons I may explain later. Though I work for the restoration of a Catholic society, practically speaking I believe that our elected officials should at least follow the laws of our country as they are set down. I tend to vote Republican due to the life issue, though in recent years I have realized just how bad things are in our government, and voted for Michael Peroutka for President in 2004. I was energized by the Ron Paul campaign and realized that many people feel the same way. I was reluctant to support Chuck at first due to his Protestant apostolate. However upon hearing Chuck speak on YouTube and other mediums, I sincerely believe that he would not use his office to promote his Protestant religion or attack true Catholics. Perhaps, like the Emperor Constantine, he could be won over in time. But first, we must undo the damage done by some very evil folks. Well I have to go now.
